ARTIST STATEMENT

When creating my abstract paintings, I am inspired by the essence of the creative process and the different feelings and thought that can be brought near by associating texture, color and material. Through a network of gestural marks and transformation of color onto canvas, I allow the experience of my emotions, ideas, and perspective to transfer creating interactions with layers of randomness using charcoal, graphite, collage, acrylic, and oil. By embracing the potential energy of each mark, drip, or block of color, I seek to establish a harmonious atmospheric composition allowing the paint to unfold as it is meant to be.

“Soul Artifacts” captures the intangible remnants of emotions, thoughts, and experiences, translating them onto canvas as interconnected and layered planes of expression. These artifacts serve as tangible evidence of the complex web of interactions and influences that exist beyond what meets the eye, allowing us to explore and appreciate the intricate connections and depths of our collective experiences.
